We headed to our local Tesco store, & managed to purchase all of the range except the Gnocchi con Gorgonzola e Spinaci & Pappardelle alla Bolognese.

10 minutes seems no time at all! so we decided one lunchtime to try one each out for ourselves..

I had the Tagliatella con Porcini

whilst Dean had the South Indian chicken curry.

Start the timer!!

Tagliatelle con Porcini.

The packaging said  "Tagliatelle in a creamy sauce with porcini mushrooms"

I'm a huge lover of Italian food, and have been lucky enough to eat some amazing Italian dishes, my favourite being a place in London, that made every type of pasta from scratch in front of you..

The packet said I could cook straight from frozen, this is ideal for those of us who have no time to cook ourselves or any time to waste!

I tipped the packet contents straight into my pan, & followed the 4 easy steps..
  1. Empty contents into pan
  2. add 2-3 tablespoons of water (I added 3)
  3. Stir & heat
  4. serve & enjoy!.

I really didn't feel like I had to stir constantly, I had it on a medium heat & it cooked it beautifully.

Times up!!
How did I do?

Initial thoughts were when dished up was; It smelt just like a proper Italian Tagliatelle meal.

The taste..

It had a creamy taste, the mushrooms & the pasta were cooked perfectly, it wasn't dry or had a funny after taste.
The Porcini mushroom's cut through the creaminess of the sauce & combined, made the dish, one of the most quickest tastiest dishes I've had!.

I cooked mine & Deans at the same time.

Dean's was South Indian Chicken Curry.

When not given enough time, rice can often be undercooked, not nice for anyone, I was surprised with both dishes portion sizing, They were all exactly the right amount per person.

again following the 4 easy steps in just 10 minutes I had cooked a delicious curry for Dean.

It smelt just like a proper Indian curry, it was full of flavour, the coriander was subtle, and the dish was not too spicy, instead a creamy like texture, the basmati rice, including the chicken was cooked perfectly.

It was hard to believe in just 10 minutes I had made two vastly different dishes for us both, they were both equally full of flavour, well cooked, not dry or lacking in flavour at all.

So what about trying them for dinners also?

I teamed Deans plate with Spanish Paella with chicken & prawn
with a side salad & a small pork cutlet.

A's plate was Thai Chicken with Basmati Rice
with a small salad & small pork cutlet

My plate was Rigatoni alla Carbonara
with pork cutlet & side salad.

Spanish Paella with chicken & prawn.
Tasted just like paella from Spain, the prawns were juicy (Dean told me, as I don't eat prawns)
the dish was very tasty, full of flavour, not dry & visually very appealing, teamed with the pork & salad really combined all flavours, not washing either out.

Thai Chicken with Basmati Rice.
Gentle kick of the chilli, soft rice, full of flavour & actually my personal overall favourite of the Stir your senses range.
A hadn't had anything Thai before, but gave it a go and did enjoy it!

The proof?

empty plates for the win!.

a welcomed sight, especially from A's plate!
(we split A's Thai dish portion, because of his age)
